6. Marketing

Marketing cookies are used to follow visitors to websites. The intention is to show ads that are relevant and appealing to the individual user and therefore more valuable to publishers and third party advertisers. In addition, we use cookies to limit the likelihood of an advertisement being played and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising efforts. This information may also be shared with third parties, such as ad networks. The legal basis for this is your given Consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

For Marketing Purposes we use various services which are described below.

7. Website Analytics

For the purpose of analysing and optimising our website, we use various services which are described below. For example, we can analyse how many users visit our site, which information is most in demand or how users find the offer. Among other things, we collect data about the website from which a person concerned came to a website (so-called referrer), which subpages of the website were accessed or how often and for how long a subpage was viewed. This helps us to design and improve our services in a user-friendly manner. The data collected in the process may be used to identify individual users personally for marketing purposes. Anonymous or at most pseudonymous data is collected. The legal basis for this is your Consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

8. Google Analytics

If you have given your consent, this website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. The responsible party for users in the EU/EEA and Switzerland is Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google").

Scope of processing

Google Analytics uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of our websites. The information collected by means of the cookies about your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google Analytics 4 has IP address anonymization enabled by default. Due to IP anonymization, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. According to Google, the IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

During your website visit, your user behavior is recorded in the form of "events". Events can be:

  • Page views
  • First visit to the website
  • Start of session
  • Your "click path", interaction with the website
  • Scrolls (whenever a user scrolls to the bottom of the page (90%))
  • Clicks on external links
  • Internal search queries
  • Interaction with videos
  • File downloads
  • Seen / clicked ads
  • Language settings

Also recorded:

  • Your approximate location (region)
  • Your IP address (in shortened form)
  • Technical information about your browser and the end devices you use (e.g. language setting, screen resolution)
  • Your internet service provider
  • The referrer URL (via which website/advertising medium you came to this website)

Purposes of processing

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your pseudonymous use of the website and to compile reports on website activity. The reports provided by Google Analytics serve to analyse the performance of our website

Recipients

Recipients of the data are/may be:

  • Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (as processor under Art. 28 DSGVO).
  • Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
  • Alphabet Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA

It cannot be ruled out that US authorities may access the data stored by Google.

Third country transfer

Insofar as data is processed outside the EU/EEA and there is no level of data protection corresponding to the European standard, we have concluded EU standard contractual clauses with the service provider to establish an appropriate level of data protection. The parent company of Google Ireland, Google LLC, is based in California, USA. A transfer of data to the USA and access by US authorities to the data stored by Google cannot be ruled out. The USA is currently considered a third country from a data protection perspective. You do not have the same rights there as within the EU/EEA. You may not be entitled to any legal remedies against access by authorities.

Duration of storage

The data sent by us and linked to cookies are automatically deleted after 14 months. The deletion of data whose retention period has been reached occurs automatically once a month.

Legal basis

The legal basis for this data processing is your consent pursuant to Art.6 para.1 p.1 lit. a GDPR.

Right to withdraw your consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by accessing the cookie settings and changing your selection there. The lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation remains unaffected.

You can also prevent the storage of cookies from the outset by setting your browser software accordingly. However, if you configure your browser to reject all cookies, this may result in a restriction of functionalities on this and other websites. In addition, you can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google, by

  • not giving your consent to the setting of the cookie or
  • downloading and installing the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics here

9. Google Tag Manager

For reasons of transparency, we would like to point out that we use the Google Tag Manager of the provider Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The responsible party for users in the EU/EEA and Switzerland is Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland.

The Google Tag Manager itself does not collect any personal data. The Google Tag Manager makes it easier for us to integrate and manage our tags. Tags are small code elements that are used, among other things, to measure traffic and visitor behavior, track the impact of online advertising and social channels, set up remarketing and targeting, and test and optimize websites. We use the Tag Manager for the Google Analytics service. If you have made a deactivation, this deactivation will be taken into account by Google Tag Manager. For more information on the Google Tag Manager, see: https://www.google.com/intl/de/tagmanager/use-policy.html

The responsible entity for users in the EU/EEA and Switzerland is Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland.

reCaptcha serves to prevent abusive automated entries in web forms and thus to protect the technical systems of the hoster.

When you call up one of our web pages in which reCaptcha is integrated, a connection is established to Google's servers. A reCaptcha cookie is set. Your IP address is transmitted to Google.

Furthermore, reCaptcha collects the following data by means of "fingerprinting":

  • Browser plugins used
  • Cookies set by Google in the last 6 months
  • Number of mouse clicks and touches you have made on this screen
  • CSS information for the page you are viewing
  • Javascript objects
  • The date
  • The browser language

Insofar as data is processed outside the European Economic Area / the EU, where there is no level of data protection equivalent to the European standard, Google states that it uses standard contractual clauses.

Google's privacy policy and terms of use can be found here: https://policies.google.com/privacy and here: https://policies.google.com/terms.

The data collection and storage only takes place after explicit consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a) GDPR. This can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

11. Linkedin Services

This website uses LinkedIn Services to improve the user-experience on our website, to enable you to apply through LinkedIn and to facilitate usage of the LinkedIn social network and grant contact with other LinkedIn users. Provider is LinkedIn Corporation, 599 N Mathilda Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94085, USA.

LinkedIn receives information about your visits and interactions with LinkedIn Services that we provide, such as when you log in through LinkedIn or use plug-ins (such as "Share with LinkedIn" or "Apply with LinkedIn").
When using LinkedIn Services on our Website, LinkedIn uses your login information, cookies, device information and Internet Protocol ("IP") addresses to identify you and log your usage. Further information on the cookies used by LinkedIn can be found at: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/cookie-policy

If you are a member of the social network of the provider and you are logged into the social network during your visit to this website, your data and information about your visit to this website may be linked to your profile on the social network. We do not have any influence on the exact extent of the data collected from you by the provider. For more information about the scope, nature, the purpose of data processing, retention periods and about your rights and privacy settings, please see the LinkedIn Privacy Notice https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy and

In cases where you expressly agree to the processing of your data, for example when you as a LinkedIn member grant permission to our application to access your resources on LinkedIn, your consent is the legal basis for the data processing (Art. 7 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). In other cases, for example when you apply to our company via LinkedIn, the processing of your personal data is necessary for the establishment of the employment relationship (Art.6 para 1 lit.b GDPR and ??§ 26 BDSG). Otherwise our legitimate interest in the processing of your data is justified by the purposes described above (Art. 6 Para 1 lit.f GDPR). 12. LinkedIn Ads- Conversion Tracking (Pixel)

We also use the LinkedIn Conversion Tracking service of LinkedIn Corporation, 599 N Mathilda Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94085, USA, as part of the evaluation of our online advertising.

For this purpose, we define target groups of users in the LinkedIn Campaign Manager on the basis of certain characteristics, who are subsequently shown advertisements within the LinkedIn network. The users are selected by LinkedIn based on the profile information they provide, as well as other data provided when using LinkedIn. If a user clicks on an advertisement and subsequently arrives on our website, LinkedIn receives the information that the user has clicked on the advertising banner via the conversion tag embedded on our website.

The LinkedIn tag thus enables the collection of visited web pages, including the URL, referrer ID, IP address, device and browser properties and timestamp. IP addresses are shortened or hashed (for cross-device use) by LinkedIn.

Members' direct identifiers are removed within 7 days to pseudonymize the data. The remaining pseudonymous data is then deleted within 180 days.

Using the LinkedIn pixel, we can show personalized ads outside our website without identifying individual members. It also uses data that does not identify you to improve ad relevance and reach LinkedIn members across devices. LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal information for advertising purposes through their account settings. LinkedIn refers to the following link to customize advertising preferences: https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/advertising/actions-that-showed-interest.

We process this data to evaluate our advertising campaigns. The legal basis for the processing is your voluntary consent within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Without your consent via our Consent Tool, no processing of data for LinkedIn Conversion Tracking will take place. Once you have given your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with future effect by calling up the cookie settings and changing your selection there. The lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until revocation remains unaffected.

For more information about the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of data by LinkedIn, as well as your settings options for protecting your privacy, you can also refer to the privacy policy of LinkedIn.
Further information on data processing and storage duration can be found at https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/65521?lang=en.

Where our influence on data processing ends, the limit of our responsibility is reached. At these points, it is not possible for us to influence the data processing by the channel operator. We can therefore not provide any information about what personal data is processed by them. For more detailed information about the processing of the collected personal data and the possibilities to object, we refer to the corresponding privacy policies of the channel operators.

The data may therefore also be processed by the provider of the respective platform in countries outside the EU and EEA. We would like to point out that companies in these countries may be subject to data protection laws that do not offer the same degree of protection for your personal data as is the case in the member states of the EU.

  • Address of the website on which the activated link is located
  • Date and time when the website was called up or the link was activated

If you are a member of the social media channels and are logged into your user account, the social media provider can associate your visit to our page with your user account. If you would like to prevent the provider from linking data about your visit to our fan page with your membership data stored with the platform, you must

  • log out of the social media platform before each visit to our social media channel
  • delete the cookies stored on your device
  • and close and restart your browser.

In this way, according to the social media providers, all information by which you can be identified by social media providers is deleted.

It cannot be ruled out that the provider of the social media platform uses your data to create a profile about you, for example, and thus generates tailored advertising for you.

For more information on data processing by the provider of the social media platform and further objection options, you can view the privacy statements of the respective operators here:

Your application data will not be processed beyond the use described above.

Furthermore, your personal data will be deleted at the latest 6 months after completion of the application process, provided that no other legitimate interests on our part stand in the way of deletion or you have not given your consent to longer storage. Other legitimate interests in this sense are, for example, a duty of proof in proceedings under the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).

III. No Data Transmission to Third Parties; Appropriate Safeguards

Your data will not be passed on to third parties unless we are legally obliged to do so or you explicitly consent to it. Where external service providers come into contact with your personal data, we have taken legal, technical and organisational measures and carried out regular checks to ensure that they comply with the provisions of the data protection laws. If such external service providers process personal Data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), appropriate Safeguards are in place to ensure that the level of protection of natural persons guaranteed by the GDPR is not undermined.

IV. Legal basis for the collection and processing of personal data

As far as we obtain your consent for the processing of personal data, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing of your personal data.

When processing your personal data to fulfil a contract between you and Shimadzu Europe GmbH, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures.

As far as the processing of personal data is necessary for the fulfilment of a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR serves as legal basis.

If processing is necessary to protect a legitimate interest of our company or a third party and if the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the former interest, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing.

V. Data Deletion and Storage Duration

Your personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage is no longer applicable. Beyond this, data may be stored if this has been provided for by the European or national legislator in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the person responsible is subject. The data will also be blocked or deleted if a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned standards expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data for the conclusion or fulfilment of a contract.

You have the right to withdraw your data protection consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until revocation.
